The Fast and the Furious – our guide to Ferrari World gives you all the information you need about this exciting theme park with the world’s fastest roller coaster!

I love roller coasters. There’s nothing like buckling up and embarking on a wild ride of loops, drops, twists and turns to get your heart racing. On top of that, there’s an innate sense of satisfaction in conquering each coaster – like overcoming fear and earning a badge of honor.

One of the greatest badges of honor you can earn is conquering Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, which accelerates from 0 to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds!

It’s located inside Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park. It is also one of the largest indoor theme parks in the world. People don’t just love Formula Rossa either – the Flying Aces roller coaster also has the world’s steepest ascent (51° angle!) and the highest loop at 52 meters.

But you don’t have to be a car fanatic to enjoy this theme park. Ferrari World has more than 20 rides and attractions of varying intensity, so there’s something for everyone. Read on to find out how to best experience this bad boy!

Pre-trip Planning
1) Buy your tickets in advance

The easiest way to get tickets at the best price is through Ferrari World’s authorized dealer, Klook, for approximately S$96. Tickets can be purchased on site for Dhs310 (approx. S$116.70) and in advance on the official website for Dhs295 (approx. S$110.30). Why do I have to pay extra?

When we book our tickets through Klook, the e-ticket is immediately sent to our inbox and all we have to do is show up, scan our QR code (pictured above) and enter the park with ease. That means more ride time!

2) Plan your trip to Ferrari World

There are no direct trains or buses to Ferrari World, but if you don’t drive or take a cab, there are still multiple ways to get there.

(1) From Dubai – Ibn Battuta (90-120 minutes): The fastest and cheapest way to get there from the city center. From outside the Ibn Battuta Mall parking lot, take bus E101 to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station. You will need a Nol card to ride the bus, which you can obtain from the ticket counter next to the bus berth. Buses run every 20 minutes from 9am to 9pm daily and cost 25 dirhams (about S$9.40) each way. We bought a return Nol card for a total of 60 dirhams (about S$22.60, including a 6 dirhams card deposit). Let the driver know that you need to get off at the second stop at Shahama Village. From there, take a cab to Ferrari World (approx. Dhs38, approx. S$14.30).

(2) Dubai – Al Ghubaiba (3-4 hours): Long journey, recommended to leave before 8am. If you are in old Dubai (e.g. Satwa, Karama), please use this alternative. From Al Ghubaiba bus station, take the E100 bus with your Nol card and get off at Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station (last stop). Afterwards, purchase a temporary Hafirat card (Dhs5 round trip or Dhs8) at the ticket counter to travel on the Abu Dhabi bus. After purchasing your ticket, exit the station and cross the flyover to the bus stop at Sultan Bin Zayed St. Take bus number 170, 180 or 190, which runs every 30 minutes, and get off at Yas Mall, where Ferrari World is located, after 45-60 minutes.
